Entertainment executive Bruce Furst is the president of Ashber Corporation, a content-licensing company involved in the music and film industries. Outside of his work in the entertainment sector, Bruce Furst supports the efforts of Amnesty International, one of the largest human rights advocacy organizations in the world.

Over the past several decades, Amnesty International has advocated for the rights of immigrants and their families. On an average day in the United States, more than 30,000 immigrants are detained, sometimes for months or years, without a proper judicial review. Although alternatives to detention average about 12 percent of the cost of detention itself, these alternatives have not received large-scale implementation.

To raise awareness of immigrant detention issues, Amnesty International published a 2009 report titled USA: Jailed Without Justice. Today, the organization continues to call on government leaders to protect the human rights of immigrants and asylum seekers.
